Selling

Connect your existing online store

Already sell online? Keep your store running stock, payments and orders, and show its products on your Webese site — however many you have.

  1. 1

Open Connected stores on your dashboard

Press Connect a store and pick the platform your shop runs on: WooCommerce, Shopify, PrestaShop, or "Something else (product feed)".

  2. 2

Enter your store's address, plus a key or feed if asked

WooCommerce and Shopify need nothing else. PrestaShop needs a read-only Webservice key: in its back office, open Advanced Parameters → Webservice, turn the webservice on and add a key with only View (GET) ticked for products, categories and currencies. For any other platform, paste the address of the Google Shopping or Facebook product feed your store makes for ads.

  3. 3

    Wait for the first read

Webese reads your whole catalogue straight away, so you know now if something's wrong. A big store can take a minute or two. When it's done, the store shows its product count, currency and when it last synced.

  4. 4

    Drop products into a page

Open your site in the Editor, click the part of the page the products should follow, and press Add products. Choose your newest products, one category, or products you pick, and how many to show. Click a product grid later to change it or remove it.

  5. 5

Check it in Preview, then publish

Preview shows the products exactly as visitors will see them, with Buy buttons in your site's own button style. Publishing puts them on the live site.

Worth knowing

  • Your store keeps handling payments, shipping, tax, stock and order emails. Buy adds a simple WooCommerce product straight to your WooCommerce cart and sends a single-option Shopify product straight to Shopify's checkout; anything with sizes or other options, and every PrestaShop or feed product, opens its product page on your store so the shopper can choose.
  • Stores sync every day. Sync now on the dashboard does it straight away — after adding products in your store, say. Category and newest grids pick up new products by themselves.
  • Manage products on the dashboard opens your store's own product admin. For PrestaShop and feed stores, add your admin address once so the button knows where to go.
  • If your store can't be reached for a sync, your site keeps showing the last good catalogue, and the dashboard says what went wrong.
  • Up to 20,000 products are read per store, and you can connect up to 5 stores. A WooCommerce or Shopify store that's private or behind a password can't be read this way.
  • Moving your main domain to Webese? Keep the store on its own address — a subdomain such as shop.yourbusiness.com — and update the address on your dashboard so Buy buttons follow.

Common questions

Does connecting a store change anything in it?+

No. Webese only reads your catalogue. Disconnecting removes the products from your Webese sites and leaves the store exactly as it was.

Should I connect my store or move my products into Webese?+

Connect it if the store already works and the catalogue is large, or if you rely on its shipping, tax or order handling. Move to Webese's own store — importing a CSV export from Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace or a spreadsheet — if you'd rather have one system, with checkout through your own Stripe account or bank transfer at 0% Webese fees.
